Jacopo Marzi is an Italian filmmaker. He was born in 1994 in the thick fog of the Po valley. His creations are a mixture of documentary and video art, in a photographic and narrative research that goes beyond the classic boundaries of genre since his first creations, during his studies in direction at the European Institute of Design. In 2020 he was selected as one of the European talents at BDC Discoveries (Balcan docu center).
His work has been premiered in national and international film festivals and events, among the others: Ji.Hlava IDFF (Jihlava, Czech Republic), Astra Film Festival AFF (Sibiu, Romania), 70 Trento Film Festival (Trento, Italy) , ZagrebDox Pro (Zagreb, Croatia), Cinemambiente (Turin, Italy), Lift-Off Global Network (Berlin, Germany), Studio Azzurro ARP Progressive Research Area, Fabbrica del Vapore (Milano Design Week, Italy).
He is lecturer of Video Strategy at IED Milan. With his team of Mosso Production he collaborates with organizations and brands such as National Geographic, Sky, Canon, Mudec, We World Onlus, IED Academy, Unimi, Boggi and many others.
Today he lives in Piedmont’s countryside with his partner and his two kids, working on his second feature film: “Sul Filo”. As well as a docu-film about ice giants, set in the mountain desert of Ladakh.
